Katie: 2018 Senior

It is hard to believe that miss Katie is going to be a senior next year.  Wasn’t this family picture just taken yesterday?katie baby

Katie and her family have a special place in my heart as they are family.  Katie’s mom is my dad’s sister.  I joke with them that they waited to have kids till we got through all the stages of childhood so they could see what to do and what not to do.  Katie was born as I was going into my Junior year of high school so she is a lot younger than me.  I find this cool because I have got better memory of her growing up then I probably would have had, if she was my age.  She is the sweetest girl and no matter what her parents say 😉 she is growing up to be the best young adult I know.

Katie will be a senior at Plainwell HS next fall where she is section leader of the trumpets for the marching band.

Katie plans to attend college after graduation and study Nero Science (told you she is super smart) though she is not sure where yet.  She is currently looking at all schools including the dreaded Michigan University (not sure what she is thinking there lol) I am sure her parents are hoping she will become a Michigan State Alumni Go Spartans!  Though we know they will be happy with where ever she decides to go!

Katie happened to be in Florida for a spring break trip to march at Disney and do some other fun things.  Her family also traveled down to Fort Lauderdale By – the – Sea which has a special place in our heart.  So we decided to go ahead and do her senior session while I had her here and she loves the beach and water.  She scuba dives with her family so what better place to catch her in her element then at the beach.  We had fun and were able to catch the sunrise.  I hope that she had as much fun laughing and joking as I did.

Happy Birthday Steven

I am a little behind but lets just get right too it!  It is hard to believe that Steven turned 1 on the 28th of March.  He had a monster themed Birthday party so we have tried to keep a constant theme in all of his sessions Monsters!  (Thank you PaperPuff Design for the awesome banner and his beautiful Cake Topper!)

We have had so much fun over the last couple of months.

Steven was having so fun with his 1st birthday session up until the cake.  He just wasn’t that into it but come to find out he just didn’t have the appropriate utensils for eating the cake, he needed some chips.  He looked so handsome in his little hat and his daddy’s tie.  I met this little boy when he was a little over 2 months but I have had fun seeing his personality come out every time we got together with his mama and big sister Nora.  Happy Birthday little man I hope year number 2 is as awesome as year number 1!

The Wait for Baby E: Sunrise Beach Maternity

Let me start off by saying everything about this session was perfect, the locations were perfect, the sunrise was perfect, and more importantly the mama-to-be was perfect and glowing.  This is the first non four legged baby for Amanda and Brett and they are so excited.  I have known Amanda since she was in grade school.  She graduated in my little brothers class we attended the same church and participated in the same youth group.  She did Drama with my sister was a cheerleader and an all around fun person which she most definitely still is.  She found herself the perfect match in her husband as he seems just as fun loving as Amanda.

I took my tiny little assistant and traveled up to Jacksonville while my boys had a boys day.  I was very much looking forward to doing a sunrise session as they are my favorite to watch and sometimes it is so hard to get up early enough to see them.  I don’t feel like it took much convincing to get Amanda and Brett onboard with the idea.  We went to 2 different beaches Little Talbot and Big Talbot, one which was perfect for catching the sunrise.  The other had some pretty awesome drift wood, I wish that Big Talbot beach was closer to Orlando because I would highly suggest it for many different sessions.  Amanda and Brett brought along their four legged children Gizmo and Montie and be braved the chilly morning for what turned out to be one of my favorite sessions so far.  Amanda was 33 weeks pregnant, with the cutest baby bump.  She is definitely all baby.  I can not wait to see pictures and hopefully get to meet their sweet little girl after she makes her presence known (is it May yet 😉 ).  I can tell she is one very loved little girl already!

I had trouble narrowing down the pictures I wanted to spotlight so I did a lot Enjoy!!!!

Talia Turns 9 Months

It is hard to believe in just a few short days this pretty girl will be turning 9 months.  Time needs to slow down.  I have been photographing her family since right before she was born and I have loved watching her grow up so far. Talia was having a rough morning the day we did her milestone pictures but we were able to get some good pictures out of her.  The way to this girls heart like anyone is through her stomach so if the cookie is what she wanted the cookie is what she got.  Normally anytime we are together this girl is full of smiles so I knew she wasn’t feeling great when none of my usual tricks were working.

It was so great to be able to capture her big brother in a couple of the pictures because you can tell she adores him and just wants to play all the time with him.  It was also cool to get pictures of Talia with her mommy’s god mother who was in town for a visit.  She is definitely one very loved little girl!

Sophie ~ 2018 Senior

I want to introduce everyone to Sophie.  She is a current senior majoring in Creative Writing at Osceola County School for the Arts.  She is very fascinated with people’s stories and love to write.  Her favorite types of writing are memoirs and creative fiction.  I find this very cool.  She is a girl after my own heart.  I love telling a story with a camera and she loves writing the stories down.  She is hoping for a career in the medical field and hopes to study at Vanderbilt University.  She loves to do competitive speech and debate, writing and art, which might give you insight to our locations for her shoot.  She also loves to drive her car.

For Sophie’s session she said that she likes going to the Orlando Art Museum so it was on our list.  Then she found some street art in Orlando that we decided to check out.  I had her bring her notebook that she likes to write in with her since creative writing is what she is majoring in at Osceola County School for the Arts.  While we were taking pictures around some of the street art we found around town she said she also loves coffee shops.  So last minute we decided to stop by a little coffee shop called Market on South!  It was such a cute little coffee shop where they have lots of plants and herbs growing outside.  It was a fun place to sit down and learn things about Sophie and finding how much she really loves her little sister who is 5 years old and how alike her sister is with my daughter.  We then headed over to the Art museum and the Museum of American Art.  Over all a very fun afternoon!  Thank you Sophie for allowing me to do your pictures.

Valentine’s Day Mini Sessions

First off I want to start out by saying that you to the Mann Family, the Wright Family, and the Schunk Family for participating in my first mini session of the year!  I had so much fun with this session from finding and coming up with cute ideas for the set up to the actual day and getting to hang out with these beautiful girls and boy (thank you Lucas)!!

The day ended up being a beautiful Florida day.  A little windy at times but nothing we couldn’t work with.  I had so much fun meeting Evelyn and her mom Lisa.  Evelyn was a natural in front of the camera and we were able to just have so much fun.  I love when I do sessions hearing the stories and learning a little bit about everyone I am photographing.  Evelyn happens to be the youngest of 3 kids she has an older brother and sister and I can only imagine the fun they have together if they have half the fun we had together!!

Next up was the Wright kiddos, Addy and Lucas!  These 2 are just the cutest Addy is 3 and Lucas is 8 months.  I had such a blast with them Addy is such a sweet big sister and we were even able to get a smile out of Lucas.  Back story on him and his smile he is always smiling all the time.  When ever I see this boy he is always smiling well on Saturday he decided to play shy in front of the camera it took him a few minutes then we got the smiles out of him that we all know and love.  Thank you Addy and Lucas for being such good sports in front of the camera I love watching you grow up!

And last but not least we have Julie!  She is just to sweet she is also 3 and just loves to have fun.  She would much rather being running around having a good time and playing with bubbles then standing or sitting in one spot which I love.  She made me work and it was a fun type of work so thank you Julia.  I also want to give a quick shout out to her mama Nicole who made the banners for my Mini Session!  She runs PaperPuff Design and does a wonderful job I haven’t been disappointed yet.  If you are looking for banners or cake toppers check her out!!

So Julie, Addy, and my daughter Taylor are also friends and so while they were all three together we were able to capture a couple of cute pictures of the girls!!

BFY Colton Turns 1

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY Colton James.  It is so hard to believe that you are 1 already.  I might be a little bias because you are my nephew but you have turned into such a handsome little boy!!!  When I did your newborn pictures a year ago you were such a sweet model for me.

Colton hat.jpg

We had so much fun shooting your 1 year pictures.  Your momma had lots of outfits and hats even though you did not want to wear your hats I was able to capture some before you got them off.  We had so much fun doing your cake smash and bath pictures were so fun.  You weren’t so sure about the cake smash and you are just like your mother you made very little mess.  Thank you to your mom for letting me use you as my model for my Baby First Year Session!!!!

BFY Steven Turns 9 Months

It is hard to believe that Steven is 9 months old already but we got together the day after Christmas to document this major milestone in the first year of his life!  I love working with the Sherer family they volunteered to help me out in June when I was doing 4th of July themed mini sessions!  Linda asked if we could do an updated family photo this session for her wall and it was fun to look back at how much the Sherer family has grown but also how much I have grown in the last 6 months.

Steven has also grown so much in the last 6 months!  He is all over the place which is always so fun to watch.  He loves the grass and as much as we tried to get him to look at me he just really wanted to play with the grass…don’t worry Linda the struggle is real.  When we did my daughters one year shoot she was more into eating the grass then she was into trying the cake.  I can’t wait to shoot Steven’s one year shoot and I hope that I get to continue helping capture this fun family as they grow!!!

I also want to give a quick shout out to PaperPuff Designs for the monster banner she always makes great and quality banners for me!!!  If you are interested in hiring her she is on Etsy!!!!

Lucas’ Baptism

I was so honored and blessed when my friend Maria asked if I would photograph her son’s baptism.  I said yes and I was excited and yet nervous all at the same time  because I didn’t want to miss anything for her and I know how hard it is you want pictures as a parent but it is hard to do when you are part of the ceremony.  I had a so much fun and felt truly blessed to witness a church family excepting a little one into their family saying that they would help raise him to know the lord.

This just so happen to be the week right before Christmas so they did a manger scene that they asked the Wright family to be a part of so I was happy to capture some of those moments along with some group shots after wards down by the lake next to Asbury United Methodist Church in Maitland Florida.   Thank you again Maria your family is truly blessed and I am so blessed that you have been put in my families life!

Curry Family Mini

I have to quickly say that the Hensel Phelps company is a wonderful company and I am so happy that my husband and our family gets to be a part of this wonderful company and family.  Here is another Hensel Phelps family and what a sweet family they were.   Their girls Elana and Emma were just the cutest.  I have learned with my two that this age is the hardest to get everyone to look in the same direction at the same time, but the girls did a wonderful job.

We headed out to Twin Oaks Conservation area, Inedelmis asked about a Christmas setting, so I brought some ornaments and we were able to find a little pine tree to hang them and on and I think it made for a great back drop and the girls loved playing with the ornaments.  This was a little later in the morning so the sun was kind of harsh and not a lot of shade at this park but I think that we were able to get some great pictures anyways.  Thank you again Curry family for letting me work for you and hope that I get to work for you more in the future!
