“Lifestyle Session” The Rupprecht’s Take on the Beach

So my family just got back from a relaxing much needed vacation.  We traveled to Oak Island North Carolina to spend a week on the Beach.  My in-laws rented a home right on the beach which the kids loved because they could basically go down to the beach when ever they wanted!  They spent a lot of time splashing in the waves and building sand castles while mom and dad spent time relaxing and taking in the sun and calming sounds of the waves hitting the beach.

I tried to spend more of our time enjoying the company and didn’t get to capture as many pictures as I would have liked, but I did make it a point to take the camera down a couple of times to capture how much fun the two kids had.

I have decided that I love the lifestyle in photography, capturing the moments when a family or person is having so much fun.  The smiles you get from this type of session are so genuine and less fake looking.  I did capture a couple of group shots because well lets face it those are the ones that you are going to want for your Christmas card!  But my favorite are of the kids and the adults having a great time.  No one wanted to leave the beach and even though we live near the beach it is just not the same as waking up to the sights and sounds of the ocean right outside your window.

Colton Turns 6 Months

It is hard to believe that this little man turned 6 Months.  It seems like just yesterday I was meeting him for the first time.

Colton is the youngest of 4 kids.  He has two wonderful parents and I think that he looks a little like both of them.  While in Indiana Colton and his family (who happen to be my sister, nieces, and nephew) were visiting his Grandparents who live out in the middle of nowhere.  It made for the perfect background for some 6 months pictures.  He still isn’t really sitting on his own but that didn’t stop us from being able to get some super cute pictures.  This little boy has the best smile and the prettiest eyes I just can never get enough of him!  I hope that you enjoy him as much as I do!!!

Kian and Elle

I met Kian and Elle (well maybe it was just Kian at first) through their mommy Kristin.  Kristin is a mom I met in Castro Valley, California.  Just like my friend Leslie, Kristin and I quickly became good friends.  We were able to vent to each other and exchange war stories when it came to our kids.  It’s always nice to know you are not alone in this thing called parenting.

Kristin was wanting to try and get some headshots of her daughter Elle.  Well after quickly realizing Elle was not going to sit down and smile at the camera for me, lol, I started chasing her around in her environment.  Luck for us I was able to get some of her looking at the camera.  This was only my second photo shoot and so I am still very green with these photos but I think I got a few good ones.  Oh and we can’t forget big brother Kian he wanted in on the photo shoot as well.  Thank you Kristin for letting me come over and spend sometime capturing Ella and Kian!

The Foster Family

I had asked my friend Leslie if I could use her family as models and I am so glad that she said yes.  I met Leslie and her family 2 years ago, a couple of months after my husband and I moved our little family from Phoenix, Arizona to Castro Valley, California.  At the time I did not think it was a great move but after meeting Leslie and a few other moms I soon realized it was a great idea.  Leslie’s son Grant and my daughter Taylor just like their momma’s became instant friends.

Leslie and her husband Jon are realtors and run their own business and after the birth of their daughter Nora, needed an updated family picture.  Which I was happy to help them with.

Thank you Leslie, Jon, Grant, and Nora for not only being patient models for a green Photographer but for also be such wonderful Friends to my family  and myself.  We miss you all dearly.

First blog post

So I was blessed to be gifted a new camera at Christmas and was so excited I couldn’t wait to put it to use.  I have always been in to taking photos especially once my children were born.  I spent 10 years working in Television in the news business.  During that time I was able to become a Multimedia Journalist and I got the opportunity to tell many different types of stories.  My favorite were always the ones that told someone’s personal story of either heartbreak or triumph.  I found that I truly loved being a storyteller.  Well when my daughter was born I decided to become a stay at home mom but I never lost interest in listening to other people’s stories.  Once I got this camera I thought how cool would it be to help document other people’s stories or milestones just as I was doing with my own family.  So I decided to do this photography business as a side to help keep me a little busier then I am already.   I hope that you would entrust me tell your story.  Thank you for taking some time to read about me.
